FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — April 15, 2025 — I was very excited to hear the news that one of my favorite hotels in south Florida has just completed a huge transformational refurbishment Just in time for summer travel. The Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Lauderdale 17th Street has unveiled a sweeping, multimillion-dollar renovation designed to reimagine the guest experience from check-in to check-out.

One of the reasons I love this hotel so much is because of its prime location. This property is located in the heart of Downtown Fort Lauderdale, just minutes from Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, the 361-suite property is positionied perfectly to make itself a tropical escape for cruise passengers, a center for business travelers, and an ideal property for leisure guests too. Since I find myself in Fort Lauderdale, for both pleasure and business, I am anxiously looking forward to inspecting this refreshed property, and I am glad that hotel management realizes just how good the location is and listened to guests comments.

The property’s redesigned lobby now greets guests with a dramatic atrium adorned in natural materials and neutral tones accented with bold patterns and vibrant lighting. The effect is both calming and contemporary, offering a modern interpretation of a tropical resort. The renovation extends throughout the property, including refreshed hallways, public areas, and an expanded outdoor pool deck.

A focal point of the redesign is the hotel’s new poolside ambiance — more open, airy, and aesthetically refined — offering guests a breezy backdrop for soaking in the South Florida sun. Fitness-minded travelers will also find upgrades in the hotel’s gym, which now features new flooring and state-of-the-art equipment.

Suite Style and Comfort, Elevated

The hotel’s hallmark two-room suites — each offering a private bedroom and separate living area — have been enhanced with a contemporary flair. Guests will find dark wood furnishings paired with tropical hues of green, blue, and orange, along with bold accent pieces, modern lighting, and new carpeting featuring a lively pattern designed to echo the energy of the city outside.

Introducing “TASTE” — New Dining Concept

The renovation also includes a complete rebranding of the hotel’s signature dining outlet. The new restaurant, *TASTE*, brings the indoors and outdoors together with a neutral palette, tactile materials, and leafy accents that reflect South Florida’s lush surroundings.

Open to both hotel guests and locals, *TASTE* features a wide-ranging menu that highlights coastal and comfort food favorites. Signature dishes include coconut shrimp with tater tots and coleslaw, a Key Largo-inspired mahi-mahi sandwich, and a 12-ounce seared ribeye with waffle fries and truffle aioli. The cocktail program leans into indulgence, with highlights like a Chocolate Espresso Martini and a citrusy Green Tea Surprise.

Enhanced Meeting and Event Spaces

Business and event travelers will also notice significant upgrades. Nearly 14,000 square feet of event space has been refreshed with new carpeting, contemporary lighting, and modern digital reader boards to streamline meetings and events. Ballrooms and conference rooms now reflect a clean, upscale aesthetic consistent with the rest of the property.
