American Airlines Named Official North American Airline of FIFA World Cup 2026

NEW YORK, NY — April 17, 2025 — American Airlines has been named the official North American airline supplier for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, in a new partnership with Qatar Airways, FIFA’s global airline partner through 2030.
The agreement grants American Airlines air travel rights throughout the three host countries — the United States, Canada and Mexico — and aims to help deliver a seamless transportation experience for players, officials and fans attending the largest FIFA World Cup in history.
As part of the partnership, American will offer promotions and travel packages in coordination with Qatar Airways, including ticket access through loyalty program redemptions. Members of both the AAdvantage® program and Qatar Airways Privilege Club will be eligible to redeem points for match tickets later this year.
“We are proud to partner with FIFA and look forward to connecting fans to all FIFA World Cup 2026™ matches,” said Caroline Clayton, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of communications for American Airlines. “As the home team for this historic event, we look forward to flying fans across North America to experience the passion, energy and diversity of the beautiful game.”
Headquartered in Dallas–Fort Worth — one of the tournament’s 16 host cities — American operates more than 2,200 daily flights, many of which already serve key World Cup destinations. The airline is also launching a sweepstakes offering AAdvantage® members the chance to win final match tickets. U.S. residents ages 18 and older can enter daily at aa.com/fwc26perks.
Romy Gai, FIFA’s chief business officer, called the partnership a natural fit. “Having American Airlines on board as an official supplier further enhances our ability to deliver an exceptional FIFA World Cup in 2026,” he said. “Their unmatched domestic network and deep connection to the American public make them a great partner for a tournament that will captivate millions across North America.”
Qatar Airways will continue to serve as the exclusive international flight provider and global airline partner of FIFA. Thierry Antinori, chief commercial officer for Qatar Airways, welcomed the collaboration. “With American Airlines joining as the official North American airline supplier and oneworld® partner, we believe that, together, through our expansive networks and world-class loyalty programs, we can offer millions of travelers a seamless and rewarding journey to the FIFA World Cup 2026™.” Set to be the largest and most inclusive tournament in FIFA’s history, the 2026 World Cup will feature 48 teams, 104 matches and a record number of host cities. Organizers expect the event to break attendance and viewership records worldwide.
