AT&T and WMS Expand International Day Pass™ to Cruise Ships, Offering Seamless Cellular Connectivity at Sea

MIRAMAR, FL — APRIL 30, 2025 — In a move aimed at improving the travel experience for cruise passengers, WMS, a leading provider of wireless connectivity at sea, has partnered with AT&T to expand the reach of AT&T’s International Day Pass™ to more than 200 cruise ships across 25 cruise lines.
The enhanced service, launched April 16, allows travelers to stay connected with voice, text and data service while at sea, mirroring the same convenience and predictability as on land. The offering provides 500 megabytes of high-speed data daily, along with unlimited talk and text, for $20 a day. The pass activates automatically and continues to function in international ports of call without additional fees.
“Connectivity has become an essential part of travel,” said Pramod Arora, president and chief executive of WMS. “This partnership with AT&T sets a new gold standard for cruise connectivity and offers peace of mind for guests while delivering added value to our cruise line partners.”
The initiative arrives as the cruise industry experiences robust growth, with the Cruise Lines International Association forecasting nearly 40 million passengers by 2027. The WMS-AT&T collaboration aims to address growing demand for reliable, high-quality connectivity throughout the passenger journey — both on board and ashore.
WMS recommends a few strategies for travelers planning a connected cruise:
- Begin preparing for cruise connectivity about two weeks before departure.
- Use cellular service for light to moderate data needs and ship Wi-Fi for heavier internet use.
- Disable Airplane Mode to allow cellular signal access.
- Activate international roaming before boarding.
- Close unused apps, turn off automatic updates and location tracking, and disable auto-fetch on email to preserve data.
