Holland America Lines’ newest ship, ROTTERDAM, reached another milestone today, floating out for the very first time from the Fincantieri Shipyard’s Drydock in Marghera, Italy. This is the seventh ship in Holland America Lines’ history to bear the name ROTTERDAM.

From Greenland to Greece and Iceland to Israel, five Holland America Line ships are set to explore the cultural kaleidoscope of Europe in 2021. The brand’s collection of vessels crossing the pond includes Rotterdam, which is slated to debut at the height of the summer Europe season. Joining the fleet’s new flagship will be Nieuw Statendam, Westerdam and Zuiderdam, putting two Pinnacle Class ships in the region. Zaandam heads to Europe on the popular “Voyage of the Vikings” itinerary in July.

Greek’s ropax operator Seajets are the new owners of Holland America Line’s Veendam and Maasdam, as reported by Seatrade Cruise News. Seajets is the operator of 21 high speed ferries based in Greece. The ships have since been renamed Aegean Majesty and Aegean Myth respectively.
