British Airways Introduces Avios Collection on World Duty Free Purchases

Heathrow, UK – Nov. 27, 2023 – British Airways Executive Club Members can now collect Avios on their purchases at World Duty Free shops at London Heathrow Airport. This expansion of the Avios collection scheme offers Members even more opportunities to earn rewards while shopping for a wide range of products, including sunglasses, skincare, fragrances, and fashion.

Collecting Avios at World Duty Free

To start collecting Avios at World Duty Free, Executive Club Members simply need to ensure they have signed up to Red by Dufry, World Duty Free’s loyalty program, and entered their Executive Club details in the Red by Dufry app. Once enrolled, Members will earn one Avios per £1 spent on eligible purchases at any World Duty Free shop across all of Heathrow’s terminals. Avios will be awarded within 72 hours of each eligible purchase.

Additional Rewards

In addition to earning Avios, Executive Club Members can also enjoy a bonus 250 Avios on their first transaction at World Duty Free. Additionally, Members can maximize their Avios earnings by using their British Airways American Express card to pay for their purchases.

Expanding Earning Opportunities

The addition of World Duty Free to the Avios collection scheme further expands the opportunities for Members to earn rewards on their everyday spending. Earlier this year, the airline introduced its first Avios-Only flights, and it was announced that Avios can be used to purchase British Airways Holidays packages. Additionally, new retailers continue to join more than 1,500 retailers on shopping.ba.com, including eBay, which was added in September.
