Today is thrilling, yet bittersweet, for Crystal Cruises. As we celebrate our official acquisition by Genting Hong Kong (GHK), we also say farewell to a long, prosperous and mutually supportive relationship with our former owners, Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK). It’s important to reflect and appreciate the past as we move into this innovative new era for Crystal, as the developments and expansion of our brand would not be possible without our 25-year history of setting the bar in luxury cruising.

This is a particularly exciting time to be the CEO of this esteemed company, as it has been a personal goal of mine since I joined Crystal to see us grow so we can reach more new (and soon-to-be loyal) intrepid travelers and meet their ever-evolving expectations of what luxury travel can be. Through the past 25 years, we have seen the concept of “luxury travel” expand, now encompassing more diverse interests and multifaceted experiences than ever. As the focus of luxury travel shifts toward authentic and exclusive opportunities that bring travelers to the edge of their horizons – and then past them – we, too, will expand our offerings.

Our new owners at GHK share our belief that we must continue to grow in order to continue at all. With the backing of GHK’s financial resources and reputation for creating world-renowned leisure, entertainment and hospitality properties, we will embark into new waters, so to speak. What will remain constant throughout all of Crystal’s new endeavors is our commitment to the highest possible standards of excellence that has earned us the status of “World’s Best” year after year.

Our crew and land-based Crystal family will remain at your service, dedicated to presenting the most memorable travel experiences our guests can imagine. The coming developments will also mean broader opportunities for our Crystal team members, as they will be called upon for their collective wealth of global perspectives and expertise.
