This afternoon President and COO of Joanna Geraghty sent out the following message to all Jet Blue customers regarding their new, “Safety From The Ground Up” program and their commitment to “a healthy and safe travel experience, both in the air and on the ground.”
We are months into shelter at home orders designed to maximize safety of the public at large. Carefully, the promise of flight as a way to unite us again is taking shape. Just as we have flown those who must travel during this period, and made our priority doing what we can to reduce risk and maximize the safety of our people and our customers, “health” and, indeed, “safety” itself have been redefined.
The next chapter is upon us. As we turn the page, we all eagerly look to the new horizon of a flight experience redefined by both the realities of what we have all endured in the last months, and the requirement of continued—and renewed—trust in us to get you safely to your destination. Apprehension to fly is not only understandable; it is now the norm. Just as JetBlue redefined air transportation 20 years ago to make travel more humane, we are not done yet. Not by a long shot. As always, your legitimate concerns are our priority. Please listen in on what we are doing to address them.
