British Airways Brings Yuletide Cheer to the Skies with a Festive British Original Christmas

British Airways is going all out to spread Christmas joy and yuletide surprises
with its British Original Christmas in 2024, including a bespoke seasonal menu
on board, celebrations across London Heathrow and Gatwick, and special gifts
for customers in all cabins this December.

From bespoke seasonal menus to thoughtful gifts and exclusive experiences, the airline aims to create an unforgettable journey for its customers this holiday season.

Festive Highlights on the Ground

Passengers traveling through British Airways’ lounges at Heathrow and Gatwick can immerse themselves in the holiday spirit with pop-up festive stalls showcasing gifts from celebrated British brands. Club Lounge visitors will find treats like Harry Specters and The Cocobean Company chocolates, while the Concorde Room offers hand-piped baked goods by Biscuiteers.

Between Dec. 23 and 25, Concorde Room guests can indulge in Talisker’s exclusive limited-edition 45-year-old Scotch whisky. For those feeling peckish, a winter picnic menu—featuring brie and cranberry sandwiches, mince pies, and a signature Christmas cocktail—will be available in all Heathrow lounges. In the First Lounge, travelers can have their last-minute gifts wrapped in bespoke snowflake-themed paper, with the help of Santa’s helpers.

Christmas in the Air

Festivities continue at 35,000 feet with seasonal headrest covers and a dedicated Christmas inflight entertainment channel. British Airways’ culinary team has crafted a traditional British turkey dinner with all the trimmings, alongside a vegetarian option, for long-haul flights. The airline anticipates serving over 250,000 turkey dinners this season, accompanied by 700,000 Brussels sprouts and 40,000 pigs in blankets.

First and Club World passengers can savor festive afternoon tea complete with chocolate éclairs, fruitcake, and a special winter cocktail featuring Johnnie Walker Blue Label in First Class and Black Label in Club World.

Meanwhile, First Class guests will receive limited-edition Alice Temperley amenity kits, adorned with a celestial design inspired by flights under starry skies.In keeping with tradition, passengers flying between Dec. 23 and 25 can collect this year’s hand-painted Christmas bauble, featuring Indian and British landmarks to mark a century of British Airways connecting the two nations. Club World travelers will be treated to British Cartwright & Butler fudge, while World Traveller passengers will receive complimentary Christmas hats with their meals.

Children flying during the holiday season will enjoy festive chocolates, activity sheets, and the opportunity to send letters to Santa through a dedicated mailbox in Heathrow Terminal 5 lounges.

Short-Haul Festivities

On short-haul flights, holiday fare continues with offerings from the High Life Café, including Tom Kerridge’s ultimate turkey feast sandwich, The Jolly Hog’s pigs-in-blankets roll, and sweet treats from Pullins Bakery. Festive beverages include BrewDog’s Elf Lager and Bottlegreen’s Edwards’ Vodka Raspberry Spritz. Club Europe passengers on selected routes from Dec. 24 to 27 can enjoy a specially crafted holiday menu.
