Holland America Appoints Senior Officers for the Rottedam VII – They Have More Than 80 Years of Experience

Holland America Line has a history that spans nearly 150 years, and with that comes a depth of talented crew who will be aboard Rotterdam when the ship is delivered in July. The cruise line has appointed Staff Captain Kevin Beirnaert, Hotel Director Wessel van Oorschot, Chief Engineer Peter Massolt, Staff Chief Engineer Wim Akkerman and Environmental Officer Michael Brown to lead Rotterdam’s shipboard teams.

Holland America Sending Five Ships to Explore Europe from Greenland to Greece in 2021

From Greenland to Greece and Iceland to Israel, five Holland America Line ships are set to explore the cultural kaleidoscope of Europe in 2021. The brand’s collection of vessels crossing the pond includes Rotterdam, which is slated to debut at the height of the summer Europe season. Joining the fleet’s new flagship will be Nieuw Statendam, Westerdam and Zuiderdam, putting two Pinnacle Class ships in the region. Zaandam heads to Europe on the popular “Voyage of the Vikings” itinerary in July.

Largest Sushi Roll at Sea Created Aboard HAL’s Koningsdam

Seattle, Wash., June 18, 2018 — Today is International Sushi Day, and Holland America Line is celebrating the beloved delicacy by revealing the Largest Sushi Roll at Sea made on June 9 by Culinary Council Member Andy Matsuda while he sailed aboard Koningsdam on a special Food & Beverage Aficionado Cruise in Norway. Dubbed the “World Mega Roll,” the creation measured 49 feet long (15 meters) before getting rolled, 3.3 feet (100 centimeters) wide and used 70 pounds of sushi rice.
